This weekend was great. John surprised me by planning a little weekend getaway to celebrate my 30th Birthday. I knew nothing about the trip until we woke up Friday morning and he said "pack your bag,we're leaving!!" We dropped the boys off at his mom's and we were off. John had made reservations at this neat Bed & Breakfast right on top of Lookout Mountain, called The Chanticleer Inn. It was very nice !! The rooms were the little stone cottages you see in the picture!
He had made us reservations for dinner that night at The Back Inn Cafe,which was very good!! Then we walked across a glass bridge to the world's longest pedestrian bridge to a little ice cream shop the people at the B&B had suggested. It was definitely worth the walk and maybe we worked some of it off on the way back!!! On Saturday morning we got up and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast then went for a drive. We ended up at Cloudland Canyon State Park.These are pics of the canyon and the waterfalls in the canyon. We would have loved to hike into the canyon,but neither of us had tennis shoes or boots and the wind was whipping around pretty good that morning. We will have to go back for that!!
After that we went back to our room and took a nap!!! It was great just to enjoy the quiet!!! That night John had made reservations at Vaudeville Cafe which is a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. It was a lot of fun too!! We really had a great time and I was so proud of John for working out all the details on his own!! I can't wait to go back!!

Looks like John did a great job. It was hard for me not to tell, it almost slipped a couple of times. WAY TO GO JOHN!!!!!

Looks like you had a fun 30th birthday. That is funny that I also did the B&B thing on my 30th last year.
