One of my NY Resolutions was to run the half marathon.Well,at this point in time,it isn't looking good. First of all--I hate to run. I have always hated to run.Even when I was in middle school and high school,in great shape,playing basketball and volleyball--I hated to run. For some crazy reason, I even ran track one year in middle school--it didn't change my fondness of the sport!! But more than hating it(I could get past that) I can't seem to find the time to do the training I need to be doing a this point in the game. If I keep up at the pace I am at now-it would take me more than 3 hours to finish the half,if I even lived that long. For instance--tonight I had big plans of going to the Y--well, John decided to break out his bad attitude and smart mouth this afternoon and me,being the smart mom I am -I told him if he didn't straighten up he wasn't going to the Y. He loves the Y and I thought for sure that would work.Well, it didn't and here I sit!! I even tried to give him the chance to redeem himself and that didn't work either!!
I am not giving up just yet, though!! I am still going to go to the Y as often as I can and see how it goes!!Now,if I can just get the kids to cooperate!!! Oh, and if you have any ideas on how to tame the mouth of a 5 year old,I would love the suggestions. I honestly thought I had a few more years before he started thinking we were stupid,apparently I was wrong!!!
Well, I am off to get things ready for school and work tomorrow (and to pack my bag for the Y)!!

I can relate even though the marathon was never a goal of mine. I wish I could get the Y more.
The smart mouth starts early, doesn't it? Morgan can get pretty mouthy as well. I keep talking to her about being wise in her own eyes but... Can't offer any suggestions, just sympathy.
Don't give up yet!!! It isn't about time, it is about running the race!! Hang in there and you'll be there in April! I have confidence.
