One the first day of camp they gave each of the kids a swim test to see how well they could swim. If they were good swimmers they were good swimmers they got a green necklace to
let the lifeguards know that they were allowed in the deep end.If not they got a red necklace. Well on that day John came home and proudly announced that he was "the only buckaroo" with a green necklace. (Buckaroo is what they call the kids going into K and 1st grade) I am not sure if he was, in fact, the only buckaroo with a green necklace!!!
Last night they had Family Night at camp We were excited to go and see what he had been doing all week. Each grade level did their "nation cheer" and sang a song and the counselors did some of the skits they had performed during the week.It was lot of fun and reminded me how much I loved camp as a kid. I think John was most excited about having the camp counselors sign his camp shirt. As soon as we got there he was off getting signatures and by the time we left he had almost all the girl counselors signatures and some of the guys. He also had Mimi, Dado, Sam, and Eddie George sign his shirt!!!! Evidently Eddie's kids went to camp there too and we spotted him at Family Night. John went up to him and asked him to sign his shirt and he was kind enough to do so. I hate to tell you though, Eddie, that John was much more impressed with the counselors autographs!!! Anyway John had a great time at camp and is already talking about going back next year!!!!!
Here are a few pics. My camera doesn't take very good night pictures so the ones from last night are pretty dark!!
Ready for my first day at Camp Widji!

I know John had a BLAST. Tyler too is coming home exhausted! He was there too, but only for one of his 2 weeks. We were suppose to be at that Family Night. Tyler got pneumonia so he is finishing up his 2 weeks this week. Hate that we missed Eddie. LOL!!!
